Default Dealer says can't change tilt wheel setting?

I've been searching on the forum concerning the power steering motor. I'm trying to change the setting so that it will not tilt up and in upon exit. I read where this can be done be the dealer in the c-best settings. However my dealer is telling me it is not possible. I explained to him that others have had this done but he is emphatic that it can't be done. Has anyone had this done and if so what dealer did it for you? Thanks!

I just don't want to have to fool with it when it goes out. I doesn't help me exiting the car....I would rather just adjust it manually when needed.

If your fear is grinding noises or labored sounds from the tilt motor. There is a thread on how to lube the extract/tilt mechanism. Just saying.

It's not the noise that should be feared. It's the motor's life that is the main concern. Some people put their keys in and out of the key hole up to 5 times a day. Multiply that by 365 days and you've got a lot of wear. A new motor is definitely not cheap at all!

I disconnected the telescoping ECU so it doesn't telescope at all.

tilt works on warm days for me. i want to get this looked at too. if you remove the leather padding around the key tumbler, you can flip this 'switch' under the ignition unit. it will disable the auto tilt/tele when you put the key in, but then you lose the keyless locking mechanism.
