Default Timing belt help?

I was wondering if anyone would give me a list of the parts needed to replace the timing belt as there is no timing belt kit for a 98 gs 300 twin?

Ahh, but there is.

Over at AutohausAZ (for $233, Oct '10) the "kit contains a Mitsuboshi timing belt, an Aisin water pump w/ gasket, and a Koyo tensioner bearing." What the kit does not contain is two (or three?) O-rings for the small metal pipes or in/outlets between the water pump and the block which I picked up on the moment from the dealer for 10 times their value. I will also go in later to replace the hydraulic tensioner, just because mine is looking a bit corroded and because belt & chain issues often are attributible to the tensioner. Other members here have opinions about cam seal replacement. As your coolant system is open, now might be a good time to replace the fluid. I also found it convenient to disconnect the tranny coolant and lost a small amount.

If you're on a budget the absolute minimal list is just the belt, which can be had for around $30.

A thorough list is as follows...
- belt
- water pump and gaskets
- O-rings
- tensioner bearing
- tensioner
- cam shaft seals
- coolant
- small amount of tranny fluid

You will need to solve the crank nut problem, which for me required a vice grip on the harmonic damper/balancer and a 24" vanadium steel breaker bar. In my case the break-loose torque is estimated at around 200 lb-ft., enough to bend my cheaper 18" torque bar. The harmonic damper removal tool and 24" bar are both available at AutoZone or through Amazon.com
