Anyone else here drive less vigourously due to the gas price. i find my self not flooring it as much anymore just because gas is too dam expensive. but if i had unlimited free gas i would floor it at every single stop and go. and everysingle chance i get.

i usually go to the new mobile on the corner of Torrance and Hawthorne. premium is 1.69 currently. also this last week there is this wierd gas station name called T.W. Petroleum on the corner of Redondo Beach and Prarie it was only 1.59for premium but i was scared to pump a full tank of gas cause i never heard of the brand name before so i only pumped 20. but my car is still running. LOL

For people who live in the Los Angeles area, the cheapest place i have found is Cashio and La Cienega. Its something like 1.6x for 91 octane.
Um, i dont find myself "not flooring" the car as much, but i do find that i just dont drive as much.

hell yeah guys...
these gas prices are ridiculous... i have noticed that i'm a bit more conservative when i'm driving nowadays... i used to love to eat up little wannabe rice rockets whenever i got the chance (the ones that are completely stock but the stickers are definately there)... but alas, these gas prices are putting a serious hurt on my wallet.
anything we can do or add to our engines to help with the fuel economy? i've been up late enough times to see the infomercials... but i'm a little scared to try some of the products... any word?

well the way i try to do it now is try to drive with AC off and windows down. also try to keep your RPM below 3,000 as much as possible. another thing that i do is when you see a red light from far away just put the car in N and let it drift to the light. 1 it saves gas, 2 it saves break pads also.

This has to be one of the more ridiculous threads on ClubLexus of late.
You drive luxury cars and you're whining about paying more for gas.
20,000 mi. a year at 20mpg is 1000 gallons. So even if it goes up $1 a gallon you're paying $1000 more a year.
jmai - you dropped more than that on your stereo probably, the weight of which is probably contributing to poor fuel economy.
Get over it or get a Civic.

Actually - I read one time that best fuel econonmy was with windows up and A/C on, rather than the opposite.
Reason is wind resistance.

Go take the bus!
But there are reasons that the gas is cheaper....Don't buy it!....It WILL lead to problems....Chevron, Texaco, and Shell use the best quality gas.

How about windows up, A/C off, fan on, outside vent open. Windows down contributes to drag. When outside temp goes up to 81, I just turn on the A/C. Then, front tires at 38 psi, and rear at 37. Anticipate stops long before it happens and coast with your momentum. Well, I've always driven like this so whether the price of gas goes up or down, it doesn't matter much to me. It's not much to be concerned about. My combined hwy/city driving is 21.7 mpg, very decent for a 300 HP V8. I wake up (floor) the car 2-3 times a week depending on who's next to me on the street.
The cheapest pumps in Anaheim area where I work are Chevron and Mobil at 1.65 on Brookhurst, between Broadway and Lincoln. Where I live, it's 1.79, Unocal 76.

back when i had an 85 toyota cressida with 40% paint, true pimping, i was getting like 250miles per tank using arco gas. a friend said he got better mileage using texaco so i tried it and consistently got about 320 afterwards! couldn't friggin' believe it. kept texaco in my GS afterwards and can only pull in around 325-360 with lots of highway miles. crappy, ain't it? barely beating my cressida, assuming tank sizes aren't that different

You could get out and push it. I understand that saves lots of gas.
You guys do know that gas is $5 a gallon in the UK? And they don't complain there.
