Spare Tire Screw Too Short???

How long is the screw part. Mine measures 2 1/8 in from the plastic to the end of the screw. I have the stock 5 spoke chrome 17's and have no problem screwing it down.

i was out of town
mine is the exact same measurement 2 1/8, but still it wont get the grooves
maybe my wheel well is out of shape or something

i just popped my trunk open and looked into it>>>> i Agree with Spyder 100%

some one in the past threw the wheel in the trunk and bent down the metal

i pressed on mine not very hard and i was able to bend it down a little....now think if u throw a the wheel on the center where the screw goes in

i say push back up from underneath and it should reach again
