Timing Belt part order - Need some Help

Default Timing Belt part order - Need some Help

Hey guys, from the sticky:

from the above thread, different items were purchased so.....

The main items need to replace the timing belt are (i think?)

Timing belt: $64
Accessory belt: $46 (drive belt?)
Water pump: $105
Water pump Gasket: $6
Timing belt tensioner: $45 (what is this and why do I need it?)

My tech said that I do not need cam stuff .... (so i assume i dont need the front crank seal, or 2 cam seals, correct?)


Should I get these items to:
Thermostat - 90916-03100 - $14 (might aswell right?)
Thermostat gasket - 16346-50010
Timing Idler rt side - 13505-0F010 - $65 (do i need this)
Timing Idler lft side - 13503-0F010 - $65 (do i need this)
Water Pump o-ring #1 - 96761-35035 - $3 (do i need this)
Water Pump o-ring #2 - 96761-24019 - $2 (do i need this)

I am making the order from Sewell - and I wanna make sure I get it right the first time.

the tensioner does what it says, keeps tension on the timing belt while it spins, yes get it

get the accessory belt also while your in there
get the idlers for sure...

may as well do the thermostat while your in there so get those two also i dunno bout the water pump o ring....i would assume so since your changing the water pump but i would have to see a schematic to tell you for sure (im a little pressed for time or i would pull the part # up myself)


SERIOUSLY all you OG's coming out of the woodwork lately

u doing this yourself? there is a quick and easy DIY on the accessory belt

thanks - i figured i might try this with a friend who has does engine work so I can learn a bit.
thanks for the tips - makes sense know - just wanna make sure I get everything we need before we start.

he should be, a dealer (SEWELL actually in TX) hooks up members, just gotta join their website and register with your CL screen name

Yeah I work at a toyota dealer and we order parts from them all the time nice people the one in Ft Worth is the one we deal with
