Default Front Door Speaker Cover

My cloth speaker cover on the driver's door somehow managed to start pulling itself out. I think it was from someone's feet catching it just so when exiting the car. Well, that ugly, hanging, loose cloth screams "unacceptable" so it had to be fixed.

I tried searching but I am either completely inept at generating the correct search phrase or nobody has ever mentioned it before. Probably the former. Billions of posts about replacing the door speakers and some about trying to clean the little buggers (closely relevant to my car, I might add), but no joy on my search.

Anyhow, if you've ever pulled the door panel off you'll see the cloth cover's plastic piece that protects the speaker can not be removed. No need to go get an new door panel though. One simply needs to use a thin, flexible butterknife or, like I did, a flathead screwdriver that has a very narrow tip.

Basically just wiggle, stuff and finaggle the cloth back into it's proper place. It is quite strong and I did not punch through it or tear any part of the cloth and my cover was 50% removed.

There, now we have a post about that small item. Oh yes, the plastic piece was a charcoal gray on my car, so it would not match the interior.

Later,

Ross
