Quarter Mile times?

Quarter Mile times?
Well, just got back from the track last night and figured I'd share my results. Now before anyone says "why run a 300", it was just in good fun, after selling my Supra, its been hard enough to stay away, so anyways....After three passes my best time was a 16.61@84mph. This seems a bit slow to me, as I think the posted numbers are like 15.7@87. I do live in phoenix, and it was 102 degrees at the track. Yes, I ran in manual mode and PWR both, also turned the VSC off. Slight tire spinage each time, only about 2 or 3 feet.
So anyone else take their GS3's down the 1/4 mile??? I'm curious if I"m where I should be!

There can be several factors as to why you're not reproducing published times (wheel spin, temperature, mfg/magazine lying about times). I've taken my GS4 to the track 4 or 5 times here in LA, usually in Palmdale (3,000 ft above sea level) and once in Carlsbad (200 ft above sea level). I'm not happy with the times I've gotten, but they are what they are. I've got SRT intake and the PI torque converter, as well as nitto extreme drag radials on the rear. My best time at Palmdale is 14.9 and my best at Carlsbad is 14.5. That's after doing a couple second burnout and powerbraking at 2,000 rpms. I still get some pretty bad wheel spin which could explain the low ETs.
I'd actually like to see a So. Cal meet at a track and we could all compare our time slips.

Pusher - I don't doubt your times, but I have yet to see as stock GS4 pull a 14.4 here at any So. Cal track. There can be several factors as to differences in time (the track itself, altitude, air temperature, etc). I just got the race ECU last week, but I don't really notice a significant difference. I'll see what it does for my times. I'd like to get down to Carlsbad again, but it's 120 miles from my house. And like I said, I'd love to see a group of CL members meet up at either Carlsbad or Palmdale and run their cars. I'd be curious to see their time slips.

a frickin' 15.1 at 97/98(after reading it its more like 95/96). my times sucked, but then so did everyone elses that went that day. the fastest GS4's were the ones with the lightest mods, and they only ran like a 14.9
Here is a link to the debacle......

And that was with tire spinn. I think that if I don't heat my tires up I will stick better on take off. I was told you only need to heat up SLICKs not street tires or Z rated tires......some help us out on that matter...tires that is!!!

I know I need more practice at the track too. I find for me, the best 60ft. times are when I power brake to about 1400 RPM's and don't burn up the rubber before hand. (try not to get the tires wet before your run). I run on stock chrome 17's with no TQ and my best 60ft time to date was a 1.90
