So we have decided we need a bigger vehicle. I don't want to do a trade in because we plan to buy an SUV used, most likely private party.
Anyone had an luck selling on eBay motors? Figured maybe a starting bid of $3500 no reserve? Any other better options other than auto trader?

As a seller:
Ebay/Paypal = Suck.
They wack you for I believe 10%
Craigslist is free.
Autotrader is not expensive
Carsoup if available in your area is 25.00 (I think 25.00) until it sells.
ebay is great for buyers and garbage for sellers. They changed the feedback and upped the fees. Not worth it anymore except for people that steal from others and sell.

Craigslist & AutoTrader are the easiest, cheapest and most effective advertising; I wouldnt recommend E-bay for selling a car although it is another source.
Carmax is great too but if you check out their fleet, the cars usually sell for $10k+ and I doubt a 98 GS400 would be a desired car for Carmax to be interested in and would be considered too used for their market.
