Rain repellent windshield?

Rain repellent windshield?
I know that the front door glass on the 2001 GS is rain repellent.
Is the windshield also rain repellent? I have been putting rain-x on my vehicles before cross country drives and was wondering if it is needed on the GS430?

have that feature. It would be cool if the windshield also had it, but perhaps it doesn't work with the wipers? Not sure.

I Rain-X every piece of glass except the front. For that I use the PIAA silicon blades (which also come with a Rain X like windshield treatment to apply before first use of the blades). Amazing how well water is shed.
Long ago when I used Rain-X on the windshield of one of my (series of) Prelude's, I was disappointed with how quickly it wore off. Haven't tried it since but haven't noticed any decrease in effectiveness of the PIAAs or the stuff that went on the windshield.

Mooretorque,
You are right, the Rain-X does wear off a lot faster on the windsheild due to the wipers I assume. No big deal though, I just re-apply once a month and all is well. I'll have to look into those wiper blades you have, sounds like a good alternative.

For the front windshield I just use Rain-X wiper fluid concentrate. Everytime (in my case almost every morning) I spray some wiper fluid it puts a thin coat of Rain-X on the front windshield. I also use distill water rather than tap. Guam's tap water have too much minerals.
I tried putting Rain-X on the side front windows on my 2001 GS and it made the window hazy. I guess the Rain-X and the factory rain repellent coating on the glass are not compatible. I had to use Windex to remove the Rain-X on the front side windows to remove the haze. I now only apply Rain-X on rear windows only.

As far as I know, the front AND side windows are repellent on the 2001+ GS's. I remember that it was one of the extra features on the pre-2001's like mine that the side doors got it as well.
I used to use Rain-X on my Accord, and I thought it worked well. The nature of the product will force you to apply on a regular basis, but it is an easy process. I once tried to Rain-X my rear window on my Accord, and I did not like the results all that much.
Anyone ever use the Rain-X fog preventer stuff for the inside?
