Guys, I've been meaning to ask this for a while now. So, do anyone know what the small box, next to the sub, is for? can I remove it because it's making noise when my sub hits.
Plus, I'm going to add rear speakers, so I may use that opening.
It's to the right of the sub if you are looking from the back.
Do you need a pic? LOL... your seat belt goes back that far? I'm talking about the the underside of the rear panel. The middle would hold the sub, and the right of it would be a square-ish black box.

a pic would help.. i thought you were referring to the rear deck.. I assumed your sub is mounted in the middle and to the right of that was the housing of the middle seatbelt.. I removed that when I built a custom box for my subs and ported through the existing opening where my sub used to be.
I'm gonna snap a pic later on tonite. It rattles like crazy. If I'm gonna put a 15" IB sub there.. it's gonna be worse (not sure it's a good idea to put a 15" sub in stock location).

Or you can do like mine is to use the DAP to seal the edge from rattling when you turn on your bass. Simple fixed. Now I did not have any rattle noise from the black box anymore and no matter how loud the bass is. Good luck.
+1 -- Its definitely the center seatbelt mechanism. I also glued the box into place (and dynomatted the inside of the thing), but that's not what rattles, it's the stuff inside the assembly. I removed (but saved) the whole center seat belt. Never gets used anyway.
