Hi Everyone! I got my new wheels on about 2 months ago and I can feel my steering wheel shaking and the vibration. I put the centric cap on, balance, and had the alignment done. The steering still between 60-65mph and the vibration still occur between 70-80mph. I had the wheel balance twice and it still shake and vibrate. Does anyone have any idea in fixing this problem? Any help would be appricated. Thank you!

What kind of wheels and tires? If your pressures are low (say 30-32) try jacking them up to 36 (when cold) and see if it helps.
With my setup I had bad vibration with original tires (Nittos) which I couldn't get resolved although I did have another suspension problem (long story).
After centering rings, fixing the suspension and switching tires to Toyo T1-S's I have almost no vibration when the tires are warmed up. What I do have is very slight and not always there, at around 70-75. I can live with it. Passengers say they don't notice it. I only notice it because my factory 17s and Potenzas were glass smooth.
It cost me a lot to get it smooth as it is though...
Vibration is a combo issue of rims (must be straight and balanced), tires (must be round and smooth and not slipping on the rims), alignment, and tire pressure (higher usually equals less vibration).

Ask and see if the balancing machine does "road force variation" This should ensure the best wheel balancing that you can get. If it's the tires and wheels creating the vibration, this should fix the problem. Are the tires new or newer? What kind?

Man! I have the same problem when I replaced my stock 16" Turanzas with some Yokohama A540s... I've had these tires balanced and rotated every three or so weeks! The first week or so after the tires were worked on, the ride was ok...then it happened again! I'm tired of having those tires worked on, so shoot! I'm getting 18s" now...and not going back to Yokohamas. What tires should I get with those 18s" that won't make my ride noisy and harse?! Please help!

Removing centering rings and cutting the rotors certainly helped a lot, but not 100%. Expecialy rotors, they contribute great deal if uneven. i was sceptical at first, but the mechanic (frmr. lexus tech.) was right! Centering rings act the same way, besides in my case (17" Mille Miglia Evo), wheel is centering itself when lug nuts are tightened evenly and slowly without overtightening.

Hey,
I remembered that R&T wrote on their long-term test update on the GS400 they had similar problems.
"Even after a brand new set of tires all around and a wheel alignment, the car continued to feel squirmy and would occasionally pull to the right. A few editors speculated that it may be caused by a sticky or worn shock, or imbalanced rear toe setting."
HTH,
Damon
