Default Ebay Timing Belt Kits

Hello all,

I recently bought an '02 GS300 Sport Design. I need to do the timing belt service. I have seen kits on ebay for as little as $165 with Aisin parts (allegedly). I am afraid of these because of the price, but they sound legit. Has anyone used these low priced kits? Any thoughts?

Also, does anyone have the crank stabilizing tool available to rent or loan? I hate to spend $80 for a one-time use. I am in Michigan, BTW.

Thanks in advance.

Bill

Thanks for the replies. What do you mean "thru discount"? I'm willing to pay more for assurance of quality, but my local dealer wants $70 just for the belt. I want OEM.

If you want OEM parts there are tons of parts retailers listed on here if you search. I personally use irontoad.com because they ship the quickest to me.

Thanks for all the input. Everyone seems to call their parts OEM. I'm hot on the trail. Unfortunately, still no crank tool. I guess I'll buy one and sell it to the next guy for half price.

Good luck with that crank tool, they usually bend to ..ish while trying to get that shaft pulley nut off. look for an alternative.
OEM timing belt is a very good investment scince it will cost you 10x more if that ebay one snaps..but scince your gonna be in there, have you concidered a new water pump, pump gasket, tensioner, crank shaft seal, belt pulleys, etc???

i think you can get the crank tool from autozone lend a tool program. you pay a deposit on the tool and get a full refund when you return the tool.
