Oh, also, im pretty sure that this car did not have aftermarket cams when it was built. I saw someone ask that along the thread.

yea...I'm not one to drop that much on a motor I don't know much about. The only reason I got jacked from JPI was because I just didn't have time to mess with my car while I was opening up my bodyshop and went by what others experienced with him...Never again will i be that bad with my cash. I've priced out what a build would cost me by Boost Logic. Those guys are good, they know what they're doing as well. I've been looking for a stock motor and they still are expensive.

yeah, I think I paid something like $3200 for a stock 1uz out of a junk yard, this was about 5 years ago. You would think there would be more out there since the car is older now, which would drop the price in theory.

yes, next time you should...

as for the bold NO its not i misquoted whose they belong to...actually those speaks are the guy below me's build, aka TTurbopimp

Do the math and see if it works out, maybe it will, but take the worst case scenario and take the time to add things up and compare if you did it on your own from scratch.

You also have to take into account all of the other supporting things you need to make it work right. Your not going to just drop this stuff in and call it a day....it aint that easy!!
thanks for clearing some of that up

this was a matter i spoke about with thomas also about, the motors history or lack there of...

a particular issue i was concerned with was how long it had been sitting on the shelf, if it still had fluid in it,and privately thomas and i did mention the concern of it needed a rebuild it may not be worth it.

also thomas really isnt interested in anything but the long block to use with his SC. so the fact that its missing some of the IC/piping etc isnt a concern to him, least thats what i gathered from his info

OOPS just noticed my links are broken.....there, fixed the links.

do your pics look like the ones in post # 56? if so i have had those pics for ever....im STILL waiting on a spec sheet and some other info. turbos werent included....i established this earlier in the thread (post 56-59).BTW if this has rods/pistons/etc etc and is still in good condition i will happily remove my 4.3 for a 4.0
