Well, now I don't feel so bad....

I tried the jack method, no go. Finally I took it to a shop, they couldn't get it off either! They put a TON of force on that plug, and it didn't move. I could see it from the waiting area, the back of my car was bumping up and down and it still didn't come out. They tried a huge impact wrench, negative on movement. They had to torch the bolt, apply penetrating lube, torch again, and use an extractor. It finally come out. Fluid changed!

Well, to be honest, doubt of my issue wasn't the response I was anticipating. But, ok. Believe it or not, it's true. I can always scan the receipt.

is all this headache really worth the 20 bucks a shop will charge you to do it for you? Especially if you have your own fluid.

Clearly, no. But it's hard to know that it's going to be this much a problem BEFORE you start the project. If I had known this was going to be an issue, I would have had them take care of it 2 weeks ago. It was hard to know that 2 weeks ago, however.
