Yeah, I was about to say that. I noticed those indentions all the time on new Lexi, it's for the front plate....

We do not have a front license plate in Florida. It was kind of over cast outside today so I will make sure that is all I saw yesterday. Maybe I just slide into a parallel universe overnight like they did on the show Sliders. If so I hope next time I slide into a new world where we have a GS700 instead of the GS430.

those indents are supposed to be there.. when we got a new bumper we had them too.. they are annoying but thats the way the bumper comes, i guess they expect you to put a plate on??

Yes ceoart, if you gave the dealer a hard time unnecessarily, I hope you do apologize. Dealers can be difficult/wrong, but so can customers and they should both 'fess up when they're wrong.

I'd go in with a box of donuts or something

I did apologize. But now when I put my hand on the very bottom under the top part of the bumper the part with the fins or what ever you call it that is closest to the road, it feels rough. Is it suppose to feel rough there or is it overspray and can it be removed without painting the whole bumper again?

Not underneath. But on front just under the section of the bumper that has the 4 indentations for the license plate. It looks shiny but just feels rough. The rest of the bumper is smooth and not rough.

ceoart, now you've pinned it down more specifically, why don't you just have a calm talk with the guy at the dealer. From your description it sounds like it might be related to their work but it also might not. If it's mild roughness it sounds like something they could buff out if it was their fault.

It was overspray on the bottom part of the bumper. They said that even though they removed the bumper to paint it they must have got some overspray on the bumper went they painted the sides of the front of the car. They used something that smelled like paint remover. Could smell it 8 feet away. It took off the overspray without any damage to the bumper. They said it would be okay to wax my GS430 (It is really hot in Florida. Like an oven when it sits in the Sun) So I got it waxed and it looks great almost better than new! But one more problem. There was dryed residue from moisture inside the drivers side Head light according to the body shop. It has been raining a lot in Florida lately. Should I have the dealer replace the headlight right now or wait tell my next 5000 inspection to see if it is getting worse?
