Will Sonar Tails set off my dash light indicator?
I've read alot of contradictory threads on this topic here. I have a 2003 GS300 (sportdesign) and I am wondering if these Sonar tails will set off my dash light. Some say it will, some say it won't. What's the right answer?

They are LEDs so they just might set off the bulb out indicator but that can be solved by wiring in a simple resistor should you have the issue. I can't speak on whether these exact sets would do it but if they do its a simple fix.

Or you could just remove the warning bulb in the dash.
The only thing the resistors do is fool the sensor to think the bulbs are not burned out. Whether you take out the bulb or add the resistors, the bulb out feature is defeated. This is the BIGGEST mis-understanding people have. I was one of the first to have LED tails years ago. Nothing has changed except for newbies asking the same question and not knowing who's advice to follow.

You can pull the dash out w/out any tools, just your hands. Just pull gently but firmly on the relative dash bezels and it will remove; just don't yank so hard you jeopardize the wire harnesses. Leave the wire harnesses in, or disconnect them (just be mindful of them), and pull the tail light indicator bulb out of the dash.
It's that simple. I kept the bulb just in case I went back to OEM.

Thanks for the replies. Makes more sense now. I knew that some (wise maybe) tails didn't set off the indicator. Since it's my car, I could care less if the light is on. I was just wondering if some and not other sets would set off the light.
I have my answer now. I'm just gonna grow a sac and do it already.

3 alternatives to fix lamp out light on dash....
- buy LED tails with resistors
- pull out bulb in dash
- remove or cut pin#4 from lamp out module (located in trunk).
