Thanks for the visual aid, it does help..

And previously you said the Bi-Xenon you tried was too large for the housing. The e46 is a 3" Lens, that's a huge projector to fit in such a small space. What's you status with this? You still trying to make it work?
I thought that I was gonna have aiming problems, cause of how far off the cutoff was from the LS430 retro I did (during initial mounting), but that was a hasty judgment and I scrapped the project. It wasnt till afterward that it hit me that I never properly aimed the LS430's and if I had they would have matched the e46's which I now know were perfetly aimed! by then I had already sold them. I wasnt able to carry out the project properly cause my car was in the paint booth so I wasnt able to work on the retro with the car readily available. Then to top it all off it was all done in a hurry. I need to buy yet another set of housings so I can take my time and do what you're doing now and do it right!

I had the e46 shrouds cut perfectly as well... would have looked nice

Ahh, so you were going for quad low beams as well?

I thought about doing that, but I've removed the solenoid and flip shields from the bi-xenon and it is going to function only as a high beam.

Now you got me second guessing my decision a little. Although I helped a friend do a TSX retro in an e34 and it is sick, if my low beam output is as good or slightly better than that, I will be happy..

Awesome write up 99 GS3. I'm looking to do exactly what you were planning. LS430 low beam with bi-xenon high beam projectors that turn on with the low beam. I'm wondering if you can tell me what projectors you put in the high beams, how you mounted them, and if you could tell me a little bit more about how they're wired up? picture of how they were mounted would be amazing since like you said in the thread having them mounted off center doesn't look that good.

Also I read somewhere on another thread that running 2 sets of 35 watt ballasts on the low beam would fry the harness. Can anyone comment on that?
