I knew that the rear taillight of the 96-97 GS300 has a painted center piece (same color as the body) instead of a clear plastic with the GS300 word inside.

I don't have a pic for that

I just found out the List Price of 96 and 97 GS300 is around $45K and the 93-95 GS300 is around $40K. Whild the 98 has a list price of around $40K. No wonder not so many 96-97 GS300 on the road, they are kind of expensive at that time. (maybe the currency exchange for Yen is so high at that time)

The figure was found in the KBB book.

Default 4 vs. 5 speed

If you want better acceleration go for the 5 speed but I think, as you may have already found out, they are rare. If you are worried about the smoothness of the ride the 4 speed is just fine.

Hey Cybergs, nice pics. I'm curious, with the 5 spd, when does your car leave 1st gear? In mine if I punch it with ECT PWR on it'll shift around 40mph. I think 2nd gear can go up to around 80 but I could be wrong on that.

NO way 40 on first and 80 on 2nd thats way off. should be more like 30 on first and 60 on second and 80 on third if you want to switch lanes.

I am in the used market for GS300. Of course I want better performance, and I would think I will go for a 96-97 GS300. I hope I got luck to find one around my area. If you know any selling one, please let me know. I am located in Southern CA

http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/u...fm/id/2251.htm

Also, there was a TOURING edition model offered. This model has 3 spoke split wheels (16") kinda like the 1st gen ES 300, a two-tone body and a sunroof/cd/leather coming as part of the package..

(damn I am good)

There is a 96-7 gs300 for sale at South Bay Lexus on PCH in Torrance. Don't know if you want to deal with haggling with the dealer for a used car though...

Thanks for your information. Do you know what color, mileage and price for that GS300?
