Default Early Xmas gift for my 2GS

I was doing my regular oil change when the guy from the shop mentioned that the valve cover gaskets in my car are leaking and oil is dripping into the exhaust system. He also mentioned that it might cause fire in high heat. The shop asked $450 for parts and labor. When they were working on the car, they told me that the right engine mounting was broken and the left one is almost worn out. Plus the tranny mount also not in a good condition. I was like wt*! since i never feels anything in the car. But they showed me the issue n They charged another $1000 for both. So, $1400 gone in 4 hrs..

So my question is, is it normal the alve cover gaskets leak? Are those two covers a wear n tear parts? And how often do I need to check/replace my engine mounting?

Well. I guess the most expensive xmas gift this year goes to my golden GS..

$1000 is a little high i think, i'm getting my motor mounts done for about $410 in socal, and the trans mount is supposed to be easier to do.

$450 for valve cover. Not hard, do it ur self. Probably cost around $50-60 for parts.

I haven't done motor and trans mounts on a gs but Trans on my old LS was easy.

You got robbed ... I paid $375 for all three mounts installed.

Oh and stop powerbraking ... that's what pulling our mounts apart.
