Navi question
I bought a gen 2/3 8.1 navi disc for my 01 GS on original disc. I put the disc in and it says disc read error. I then put the original disc back in and it worked fine. It just won't accept the disc. Is it likely to blame a defective disc here?
EDIT: Looked up the disc, Sewell sent me a gen 4 disc.

i only ask this as i work at a bmw dealership, and all the "first generation" navi updates were on CD, while all 2nd generation were DVD, and all now what we call 3rd generation are direct upload.
i didnt get navi on my gs, so im not sure if the navi used a dvd system or a cd system.

on your car it was a harddrive based unit...in the 2001+ models it was a dvd based unit
