Default Weird Problem with gs300

My girlfriend came to pick me up with her car, I came in and she started it up and it drove a block. As soon as she hit the brakes, her VSC and VSC OFF light went on and the car sort of trembled. She drove it back to my house and it died.

The car runs fine when it's cold, but when it reaches the normal running temperature the idle goes low and dies if you don't give it some gas. It runs fine without the lost of 80% of throttle like other gs when their vsc lights comes on.

Problems: "VSC" lights are still on, "power etc" does not work. Cars dies on warm up temperature.

(Before she had this problem, her car would jerk hard when you loosen up on the gas.)

I'm thinking of changing the spark plugs, it seems like it's misfiring when it reaches the temp.
I'm a little confuse about the part where it runs super smooth when it's cold.
I'm also going to go to autozone and have them pull some codes out.

For now, any suggestions or solution would be a great help, Thanks!
(I can test out parts from my car to her car)

Thanks for the suggestion, I won't have time until after new years to get the codes. Work is getting pretty busy, I'll swap out my MAF with her's later on tonight and get back to you with the results tomorrow. Thanks!

I remember having a similar problem with my other car when pressing the brakes and it ended up being the brake booster. How does it idle?

When it idles.... sometimes it's fine and sometimes it's a bit rough then dies unless you give it some gas.

Possibly a temp sensor, or MAF. I can't remember if the 2JZ is set-up like the RB26, but most cars are. There are 2 temp sensors. One is for the gauge cluster and one is for the ECU. They are usually both on the thermastat housing. Not sure if this is your problem but just trying to thing of possible things.

Default Problem solved!!!!

I swapped out the maf on her car with my car and it didn't work.... Autozone does NOT do free scan anymore in California since 2008. I was lucky enough to have a friend who works at a smog station pulled the codes for me. I forgot the code number but it was the VVT.

It said the oil was blocked and blow it the strainer with compressed air. I pulled out the strainer from the union bolt, it was cleaner than a nun's.......

So I Swapped out my Oil Control Valve Into my gf's car. It runs FINE NOW!!! The check engine light, VSC,VSC OFF Lights were still on, but i disconnected the battery for 20 minutes and reconnected it. All the lights turned off. Drove it around for 30 minutes RUNS LIKE A CHAMP!

Thanks For Looking And Replying! I Know there are a few thread about this issue, searching on Google is easier than searching on clublexus. Most of the search results from Google will lead you here!!!

Rb26 Is a sick *** engine by the way. I had a 240sx with rb20 swap, and the motor is pretty similar to the 2jz.

Thanks, I'm saving up to do a full build on it now. Glad to see you got it figured out man. I forgot about this motor having issues with the OCV.

"Tuanville", not exactly the answer to your problem but there's an OBDII scanner on Amazon for $22 shipped if you have Amazone Prime.

Autel-MaxiScan-MS300-OBD-II-Scanner.

I got mine today and it works great.
