Good thing i did about 3 hours of research today.

So i went a total different route and i am hoping it works.

Supra gauge sensor is same as 1st gen GS and SC. So i ordered one, a single wire plug, pin and I will test it out. It looks normal...unlike the freaking GS one that lexus supplied.

83420-16040 (GAGE ASSY, WATER TEMPERATURE SENDER)
90980-11428 (1 wire PLUG)
82998-12440 (TERMINAL)

THIS IS WHAT IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE.....LOL

Yea no wires connect to it, just threads through the mani into the head. I was messing around with different year/makes and came up with this:

It's from a 93 GS300 packing a 2JZGE.. My guess is at some point this sensor became obsolete in newer engines and is replaced by a "tap". Happens a lot when you have a engine series spanning multiple years. Probably the sensor he needs is this one..

Duralast part# TU199 for cross reference.

Hope it helps

EDIT- Haha, looks like you got it figured out already! Sorry I didn't look at this thread sooner man.

I did TONS of reseach on this... i never got my temp guage to work after my swap (non-vvt and jzs147 wiring). AFTER looking closely on the guage wiring diagram, i believe the guage gets its reading from the EFI coolant sensor aswell, i havent gotten around it yet but i will try to connect the guage input wire into the ECU coolant wire
