Default Nav Sys reliability

Did a search for Navigation systems, could not find 'reliability' addressed.

Has this unit proven to have the Lexus reliability they are famous for?

Stirkes me as an expensive repair should it go out, plus the loss of radio, AC control if I understand the operation correctly.

Thanks

The Reliability factor means the cars will not brake down as much as other cars, not that the navigation will point you to the right spot every time.

If you have the NAV updated to the current version, then you should be fine. Worst comes to worst, you ask it for a POI and it will send you to a nearby gas station and you ask them.

If it did go out, you wouldnt pay for it, unless you have an older Lex. But guess what? If its from your Lex dealer, theyll give you a brand new loaner most of the time.

Its not a big deal. Ive never heard of one going out.

Default good stuff

My experience is limited on the Lexus Nav system.. What I can say is that my system has been dead reliable. No issues. I have heard others mention the same thing. But anything can go bad , even on a Lexus and the thing is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Still, I highly recommend it and would never again purchase another daily driver without a Nav system.

Great info, thanks. Since I have the opportunity do not think I can pass it up.

Should have been more clear I was addressing the mechanical reliability vice positional. This will be a '98 400 50K, out of warranty, but will negotiate an extended Lexus warrany (most likely).
