If you mod a car, do it for yourself, and don't be worried about resale, cuz as everyone else has stated, you won't get back anything near what you put into it (except in rare instances, like Paco stated). It's hard enough to sell in this economy, harder to sell a modded car, and even harder to sell a modded and salvaged titled car.

i sure that u dont want to waste money on a salvage car, unless you want to keep it with you forever until it die out and gave it away.
KEEP in mind that " you have to pay to play"
u wont get all what u had put in ur car. you might part out and sell it.
sell the whole car with all mod stuffs and get back what u had put on.....
i dont think so.
iihihih my opinion..

if you're planning to keep it for a very long time, do it, but if you plan on selling it, don't. you will have a hard time trying to sell it

My car was involved in a "natural disaster." Nothing wrong with the car, just a small tree fell over onto the rear fender and it had to be repainted. The car isn't salvaged though.

I don't have much opinion if you should mod it or not. But if you can do the repair work yourself or have a friend that runs a body shop, then by all means fix it on the cheap mod it a little and roll it, just don't expect to get anything for it later.

But also consider insurance options, different companies have policies on what/how much they are gonna cover on salvaged vehicles. So make sure you policy is clear in what value the car will have to you in case it gets wrecked or stolen.

Some states also have different ways to remove a salvage title and make it clean again, though it's probably more trouble than it's worth unless the car is really valuable or rare..

And depending on how tweaked the chassis is, badly wreck cars usually never drive the same again, the doors/sunroof may leak, it may eat tires, or have weird vibrations or alignment issues.. Sometimes in a totaled situation it may be best to spend as little as possible to get it fixed to looking stock and drivable and just sell it to try to get enough to buy something else and just move on.. Or parting out what's left can often bring in much more than a repaired car would.

Ditch the car and pick up a clean titled platform. Salvage/Rebuilt cars are a pain to sell and you end up taking a pretty good loss. If you mod it and want to sell later you'll likely end up parting the car out to avoid some of those losses.

honestly, it doesnt matter if the car is salvaged or clean titled, the car is what you make out of it. No one, will get there complete money back when selling the car with mods. Its always a loss. as long as everything checks out on the salvaged car to be straight everything should be fine. a clean title doesnt mean the car has never been in an accident or isnt supposed to be labeled salvaged. for reselling, yes you will lose money on the car itself but you can see it either way, a new car loses its value driving off the lot. salvaged is sold under what you got it for.

Regardless of the title, it's true, it's what YOU make out of your car. If it's salvaged, of course it's a pain to sell and you'll eventually end up with a big loss. But if you got the money, the passion and time, why not make it a small time project and daily it. But you must draw the line somewhere. Can't be rockin' air or expensive *** wheels. Have fun. In the end, just do what makes you happy.
