Will the 3rd-Gen GS (and '07+ LS) shift knob work on our cars?

I was wondering if this shift **** would fit and work on my '01 GS430.. does anybody know?
(I've attached a picture of the one that I'm referring to)
Also- how do you remove the shift **** in our cars? (I'm replacing mine either way- since my car's from Texax..and on the top of it, the wood is faded a little)
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

I used to have a 2006 3GS shift **** in black leather/wood just like the one you posted above. The fitment is 100%, clears completely, and is nicer because it has a lower profile than my stock 1999 all gray leather shift ****.
I'm currently running an all wood newer generation RX shift ****. The thickness of the lower portion of the **** is too thick and it gets caught in the shift frame when shifting. This problem is easily solved by throwing in a couple of metal bb's (from a bb gun) as spacers to give you additional clearance and allows you to fully tighten down the ****.

Hello All,
I am to be the very proud owner of my very first Lexus on Tuesday coming. Its been a long wait but finally the day is drawing close. Its an IS220D. I noticed the gear **** was pretty faded and I'd like to get off on the right foot. I was looking at the following but was unsure as to wheather or not they would actuallly fit due to the fact that the manual gear box has an up shifting facility for reverse gear and this may not suit some longer type *****.
I was looking at these on ebay but I dont think they would fit

I would be really grateful for some input on this and I look forward to spending more and more time on here in the future now that I am about to join the club
