![Question](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I live in the midwest so winters can be harsh. I put dumbbells and/or weight plates in my trunk for improved traction. I was wondering if it's safe to install some kind of bracket in the upper trunk area that is directly below the subwoofer. I wasn't sure if it was safe to drill holes into the trunk along the front edge of that area. I like to put the weights in that area but they eventually slide off and sometimes bang into other things in my main trunk area. Some kind of bracket should be able to prevent them from sliding out of that upper trunk area. Has anybody ever done something like this? Any suggestions and/or answers would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks.

Really depends on where exactly you want to drill and how much weight you will be adding.
There is quite a bit of extra space with the spare tire. You may want to look for a solution that fits in there.

Does anybody know if there is anything directly under the upper, small area in the trunk that I could damage if I drilled 2 holes in the bottom? Is the gas tank in that area?
