So to the OP, no there isnt really a way where you can just modify your original lenses.

Like i said before there was a member that used the red/clear lense from an LED one and made it work on the oem one. Looked like a lot of work and thus far i do not think anyone else has attempted it.. if they did they didnt post it here. I did a lot of research on this myself.

and no this cannot be preformed on the 01+ tail lamps. cause it is not a lens

So many options! I personally like the Option ones. Regardless of popularity or real JDM, they do the job just fine.

I think I will try to be the first to buy the cheap 01+ eBay LEDs and take offf their lenses and attach to mine. It'll be a project but if I could do it, you can have a "JP" look for just $300

But I am curious, the 01+ tail lights rear housing (where to bulbs go into), will the harness fit with no "length" issues? If so, I will use the DIY way to take off my ugly tail lights, and do the same to the hideous LED 01+ tail lights.

What do you guys think?

Someone here if I remembered already did this, bought some LED with the smaller clear area, heated the OEM 2001+ apart and switched the lens out.
