Here is an update of the halo lights on the 2GS. The fit is not 100% oem but acceptable. There are litle gaps here and there and the driver side is not flush with the fender. The output is brighter than oem but not as focus. You will loose the auto leveling. For some reason the fog lights are not working (the body shop might forgot to plug them in). I will have them look at. The install was "almost" plug & play. I have to cut and reuse the plug from the oem headlights. Everything else bolt right in. No mod was made to the car.

Why do we need an Update? They Suck period..Youll find out soon enough. Your rubber surround will fall apart in a couple of months, say hello to condensation, the Rings will work on and off, and if you are anyone knows anything about cutoffs u will see its a European cutoff, so you will blind the drivers to your right driving next to you.

I dont know why people still spend money on this crap, Not only is it Rice but they perform just as bad.

LOL..Not really i can post pics of how crappy they are. I actually took them apart and re did the Shield for a better cutoff..They just plain suck..

IDK to me they dont belong on the car either, the Halos make it look like Rice.. and another thing is everyone has them which makes them even worse, No Originality..

Now a Nice personalized Retro..Thas Classy... But the Egays are Basura..

Thats just me though..

Geez,...lol ease up, he's new at this, he dont' really know..
LexCafe, a piece of advice.. do a lot of reserch before you buy anything for your GS, nine times out of ten if you do a search, you will find that there is a better alternative.. if you intended to by those lights then so be it, but if not Im sure you could have found some replacement parts to rebuild your originals, and as for them not matching on the lenses, there are ways to polish them to look like new. you just have to search.

Thanks for the advice. I'm in a small town here and i haven't seen anyone with the halo light so I thought it'd be fun to play with them awhile. I still have the oem lights to go back to when i'm tired of the halo.
My plan for the car is not the appearance but rather under the hood. So i'm saving up for it.

Question: Is there a way to fabricate some sort of plug/recepticle set up to avoid cutting into factory harness? I have these cheap ebay units and need to pass inspection, right now I have the highbeam switch connected to the headlights because I didn't want to ruin my factory set up. I'm only using these temporarily until I get enough money to upgrade my factory housing with the real deal. So basically right now to turn on my actual headlights, I gotta flip on my highbeam. And to turn on my highbeam, well I don't have any because I have no connection for it. Does anyone have a diagram of the pin holes for the female/male connections on the factory HID's?

Thanks in advance.

And yeah it's extremely annoying blinding people on the road, I've been highbeamed at night because people think my highbeams are on when really it's just the right side cutoff that is pointing super high and blinding people as I drive by them. I thought about opening it up and following these instructions on how to change the cut off: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...-COLORFUL!-DIY

But the instructions aren't that great and I don't want to risk messing anything up. So yes I know these headlights blow, but I would like them to work temporarily to pass inspection and have something clean to drive with until I get my factories re-did. If anyone knows of a way to create a medium to convert the factory plug to connect to the aftermarket recepticle that would be awesome.

You want to fabricate what? are you talking about Plug and Play for oem HID harness to aftermarket and/or halogen units?

if yes, just get a plug that matches, so no splicing required.

Here are a couple shots of what I need to connect. I want to do it without cutting into the factory wires. So yeah if there is a simple plug and play harness that can convert the two that would be great, but I highly doubt there is anything like that. So I want to try and get one of each, splice them, and make my own, or is there any other way I can fabricate one some how macguiver style? Any ideas or fixes would be much appreciated.

The black plug in your hand is a standard 9006/9005 plug, what is the white plug going to, the halos? You can use t-taps and not have to actually cut the stock wiring.

If you have to pass inspection just put the stock ones back in.

So those other drivers are annoying you because they flash you? How annoying will it be when they hit you head-on in your lane because they were temporarily blinded by your lights?

Wow looking at these headlights from the front and upclose, the fitement is awful, stock headlights do a better job in lighoutput , halos will burn out quick anyway, that is if they work correctly in the first place, send them back if you can (less headache in the long run)

No the halos are the day running lights. They are already hooked in. The white one is for the headlights I believe. I'll look into "t-taps" thanks for the help.

And no I'm not annoyed by people highbeaming me, they have every rigth to, as I said: "it's extremely annoying blinding people". As in, it is annoying that I have to blind people driving by them as I said: "the right side cutoff that is pointing super high and blinding people as I drive by them."

Default I'm sooo glad I read this before getting the Halo Headlights

I've been considering replacing my factory headlights for four weeks now, I've been doing research and contacting different manufacturers to get answers on fit for my factory HID set up. After reading this, I have clearly made up my mind to stay away from all halo projector kits. My 2003 Lexus GS300 Sport Design passengers side headlight is cloudy and yellowing and I already sanded and buffed it. Still looks foggy and has those micro cracks in the plastic. I'll buy replacement housing covers if any of you have some you want to sell, new only please. I need it for the night time low bean and the high beam.
