Default What's the difference between the RMM 1 piece spoiler and the stock spoiler?

On my current GS300 I have the stock spoiler. I was going to get one installed on my car but the dealer wants about $750 for it. I was thinking about the getting the RMM 1 piece spoiler which looks like the stock one. Here's a pic of it.

The funny thing is that this looks like the stock one but Rod Millen Motorsports sell both this one and the stock one. Does anybody know the difference between them?

Sam,

Long time no see. Good to see you back. I was in the same situation when I got my GS4. So I went with RMM one. It requires drilling on the trunk. It extends longer than stock one, so it looks more agrassive. Most of all it only costs $225 compares to $750 dealer is asking for

Hey Jacob, it's nice to be remembered. I was spending too much time on the internet so I got away from all the message boards for a while. It was really hard to get on at work.

I'm glad it extends a little farther out. After getting the stock one on my GS300, I thought it would look better if it extended out as far as the back bumper.

I have a few more questions.
1) Where did you get it for $255?
2) And how much should it cost to get painted and installed? Does it require the same drilling that the stock one requires? In other words if somebody were to replace a stock spoiler with the RMM, would the holes line up?
3) Also, if I'm leasing the car, should I have the dealer install it?

Thanks in advance.

Default RMM Rear Spoiler

Sam,

I also have the RMM spoiler. In addition to the extension, and little "kick-up" at the trailing edge, the leading edges of the spoiler (where it swoops down towards the rear window/trunklid) are longer (farther forward) than stock so that it looks like the spoiler starts where the window ends.

The stocker starts about 2 inches farter back.

Sam,

The holes needed for the RMM ones are definitely different than the stock ones. Usually you're looking at $100 for painting and installation. You can get it from RMM web site for $225.

Jacob, they have the 3 piece spoiler for $225 and the 1 piece for $295. That's why I asked where you got it for $255. If you have a link showing it for $225, post it up.

When I bought it from RMM 3 years ago. It was $225. They must have jacked up the price these days
