Default How long did it take you to find your GS?

I'm looking at buying a pre-driven 2001 GS430 in May 03, I'm thinking I should give myself 2 months to find the GS I want.

Of course finding a clean Black/Black GS430 with NAV, ML 17" Chrome wheels may difficult in Chicago. I may have to be willing to travel to get this one.

I'm curious what your experience has been and what advice you can give me.

I think it's all just place and timing to find the right car. Some people look for years and are never satisified with the cars out there. There are GS's out there for sale like the one you want, but you just have to be patient and determined.

As for me, after I sold my 98 Supra TT, I put a deposit on my 98 Silver GS4 one week later. I had called and left a message when he was out of town, forgot about leaving the message, and was surprised by his return call. It was totally mine another week after that.

Best of luck to you!

"pre-driven" - is that before it's been driven, or previously driven? I don't care for marketing euphemisms. It's USED.

But hey, a pre-used 2001 in May 03 should be terrific.

As far as finding one, the harder you look the more likely you are to find one.

Try Lexus web site. Lets you search nationwide for CPO - not the cheapest but might get you exactly what you want.

Try classified, autotrader, CarMax, AutoNation, used car lots, and eBay.

You're sure to find one if you look hard enough.

Talking

"Pre-used"?? Is that euphemistic for "new", i.e., 'before used'??

Bit is correct, though; don't forget Hemmings, though.

I spend a month to find a 93-97 GS300. No luck to find a mint condition one yet. I found a 96 Silver, the car runs good however the interior is all messed uo. TOO BAD (I always want a 96-97 GS3).

Can I ask where the hell you are looking? lol.

It took me about two days to think about it once I knew a friend was selling his. Then it took about 2 minutes to actually get it.

Unless your working on a really low budget, getting and finding a car is not so hard.

Yes you can.
I am looking all over the place for a silver 98 or 99 GS300 with leather and without nav.
By the way, they are really rare over here.

3-4 minutes. The time it took for me to get the greeting from the receptionist at Hennessey, walk left to the showroom, and pluck the black one off the showroom floor. Bidding war with two others...fun stuff.

About 45 minutes, and prior to that I had not even looked at Lexus -- I had a down payment on an Audi S4 at the dealership across the street.

My Audi sales guy was out for lunch so I walked across the street. His loss, a single test drive in a white GS400 and it was a done deal, almost... I was all set to buy the white when I walked into the main showroom. They had this shiny metallic red GS400 [at the time 2+ years old] sitting in the middle of a bunch of new Lexus. Chrome rims, lower miles, nicer paint, done deal.

After my local dealer said they "don't get many GS's with nav" and "if you want one with nav in silver we can order one for you and you'll pay sticker" I called a dealer out of town who located one (on a boat coming into Miami) with one phone call and we worked out the deal in a day of phonecalls and faxes. The salesperson drove 100 miles to me and took me back to the dealer to pick up the car. GREAT service... great guy, car was perfect. It was only in the dealer 2 hours

a black/black GS430 is very hot, as there are so few of them shipped to the states. (due to the dry/hot weather condition) but I think it's one of the best color choice for GS, if U can have the time to take care of it ^^

I didn't wait too long cuz I am located in Cali, but my advice is to be patient, as long as the $$ is in ur pocket, u are the superior end of the deal. there is no rushes, take ur time work ur deal to the perfect condition u desire.

peace

Default 6 months

6 months and still never found the spectre blu with Nav combo. Settled for Pearl white with nav. Nav was a must and will be for my next car.
