that's the best match you are going to get for that price they are two different materials and besides no what any one tells you will never match it 100% the best they can do is 90-95% it would have to be all made for the same piece of wood the factory was made from to be a perfect match I have aaa wood in my sport design I will post up pictures today

Cool kidcapp, I can't wait to see them. I know I'm not going to get a 100% match and after looking at the pictures again, they look like they match a lot closer in the pics than they do in person. I'll wait for the other samples before I make my decision.

You know what Sam, out of those 2 pics of your doors that sample looks close.... I got a question 4 you... When you get the wood kit, what does it come with?? I really want my center unit where the shifter and the cup holders are to be covered with Blackwood. And also around my E-Shift buttons on my steering wheel... Does the kit cover that too??

Here is a sample of wood trim from B&I trim. Their web site is www.bitrim.com but they don't sell to consumers, they are the manufacturers. Their kits are sold by ExoticWoodDash.com and WoodDash.com for $255.

Ok Mr. Sypher let me summarize the kits I'm looking at and the prices. All the kits have pieces that go around the shifter and cup holders. Some have pieces that go around the e-shift buttons but not all. When you look at the links, you'll see what they call shadow sheets which show outlines of the pieces included. Be sure to read the list of pieces included for 02 GS300 because even though some show the e-shift buttons, they don't include them in the 01 and up GS300 kits. A lot of companies don't realize that the e-shift was moved to the GS300 starting in the 2001 model year.

B&I Wood kit for $255 available from ExoticWoodDash.com and Wooddash.com.

Florida Auto Trim kit, sold by KMA Auto Trim, Dash Cover and Auto Dash Emporium. That's the one with that makes that black marble finish in the rectangular pic above. I'm waiting on a sample. The one price I have for this kit is $240 from Auto Dash Emporium, plus $73 for the speedometer area and another $51 for the overhead pieces that go around the sunroof, homelink controls and dome light.

Then there's AAA Exotic Wood that I posted the first sample pic earlier. Their kit is $257.

I also think I may have contacted Sherwood Dash for a sample of their gray burl trim but I'll confirm on Monday. Here are links to a pic of the finish and the shadow kits.

I have one more that's a long shot. It's from Superior Dash. They don't make a black walnut but they have Jaguar X-Type Grey Birdseye Maple and Acura CL / TL Black Burlwood. I'm waiting for samples to see if they match at all.

Here's a link to the Jaguar X-Type Grey Birdseye Maple.

Here's the Acura CL / TL Black Burlwood.

In my opinion none of them really matched that close. Today (Saturday, Sept 21st), I was supposed to go see the B&I kit at a Lexus parts department but I got stuck in traffic so I couldn't make it there before they closed. I'll try again next Saturday. If the B&I kit doesn't look good, then I'll go visit AAA Exotic Wood to see if they can make a color that matches more closely.

I forgot to post this up. A couple of Saturday's ago I went to see the B&I wood trim kit at the Lexus of Massapequa parts department. The guy brought it out to my car and when we saw it next to the stock black walnut, we agreed that it didn't match. It wasn't even that close. It was black with brown. You could see the brown color coming through especially when it was next to the stock black walnut. This is the kit sold by ExoticWoodDash.com and WoodDash.com.

mrsypher, if you're going to be at the CL meet in Brooklyn on Saturday, I'll have all the wood samples with me so that you can check them out. I'm leaning towards having AAA Exotic Wood take another shot at matching the stock black walnut because none of the other options look that great.
