alexus - your car looks awesome.

Well folks I got the tint put on today with the cutout for the nav antenna. As I was pulling away I had no nav signal and I thought @#$% but a bit further and the 'GPS' sign appeared and all was well. We'll see if signal strength has been diminished or that was just a fluke. Sometimes it takes a bit to get the signal after the car has been indoors (which it was while being tinted and certainly wouldn't have had signal there).

Anyway, it looks great, pics soon!

Will do (make a pic) and I notice you got 6% so no wonder getting pulled over is a concern for you. I only got legal 35%!

Default KEEP IT LEGAL!

Any tint that is not legal is inappropriate and is wrong!

i'd have to disagree here..

i think everyone has his/her own opinion and taste.. there for nothing is wrong with having illegal tint.. 'cause state's law do not permit to have tint darker then 35% which is almost nothing at least in my opinion and i like it darker.

Think of Why it might be illegal.....

Think of being a LEO, and approaching a car with limo tint, at 10pm for suspicious driving.

I'd like to have something darker, but not worth it to me really.

By the way, if you're wondering what the law is in your state for tinting, check out these sites which list the tinting laws.

http://gswindowtinting.net/UsTintingLaws.htm
http://www.thetintshack.com/statelaws.html
http://autowindowtintings.com/main.cfm?action=laws

The NY law is ridiculously strict. Only 70% tint is allowed on the side windows...yes 70% of the light must pass through.

This has probably been asked a bunch of times in the past.

Who makes the best tint film? I guess I'm looking for non-metalic since I'm picking up my new 2002 GS300 with Nav tomorrow or Saturday.

Shoot, NC is almost as bad; we're @ 33% (67) I think. That's what I have.

I tell you whose tint I really like is mumbles. His is black.

bit i would love to see pics.. my 180sx is tinted already and it looks like decent tint.. not the greatest tint or anything.. but its decent.

im sure the GS guys have gotten higher quality tint jobs, and thats something i'd like to look into for my GS because the rears arem uch darker than the fronts right now

Thanks Dex. I want black tint since my car is going to be black on black. I'll send mumbles a PM and ask him.

well.. what can i say.. dont brake the law at the first place so you would not get pulled over .. and if you do then roll down all the windows..

scary police officer doesn't change a fact that i like darker tint.. in some states they not allowe you to have tint at all.. so any tint would be illegal but it still would not change my taste for darker tint.. i would still like it..
