Default 1st Gen Windshield washer button

I sat in my car the other day, and noticed the little button(washer) on the end of the wiper arm missing. I looked around the car, and found it. its a spring and the button connected. I cant figure how to get it back on. it looks like the clip is broken a little. The dealership wants $150 for an new arm, plus $ to install it. Even though its just the little button. the wipers still work. if i slip the button in, and make the connection, the washers will come on. but it falls out when i let it go. i tried to glue it, that wont work, because it needs to slide back and forth to make the connection.

Any Ideas.(anybody have one lying around) doubt it.

So the clip(s) is/are still on there but just broken a little? I am visualizing that there would probably be at least two little plastic arms that would hold the button in place. I bet one has broken off completely.

I found a type of super glue that works on plastic really well. I think it is by 3M and comes in a little dispenser. Try and glue the clip the way it should be. I'm guessing, though, that the button is supposed to go in last and there would be no way to force it back in without breaking it. In other words, even if you fixed the button you would have to disassemble some of the arm so you could put in the button, then the spring, etc. from the inside to the outside.

If you are missing a peice of plastic maybe you can glue something else on there that can serve the same purpose. (or if you're really daring look around your car for a little peice of plastic) Don't buy a whole new arm. I don't understand why they can't just sell you the button. You could try a junkyard for the part. Might be cheap.

Does this make any sense? I have fixed things like this before but I'd really have to see it to get an idea.
