Hey nice run, you could have beaten a stock BMW M5, it ran 13.90 at the same track

Dood, that's a nice run . .. So how many rwh are you pushing? ? Well i was planning to get NOS but i heard it's not good for your car. . Im looking up different shops to see if they can turbocharge my motor. . Shops that i came across were SP Engineering and EL Prototypes. . Another thing I took into consideration was to swap in a supra TT motor. .. anyways, that's a pretty good run. . 13's, sweet. . .

After spraying the hell out of my last car ('98 C5), I have to question the time you were able to run while using a 160 shot. My stock GS ran about 14.2~14.4 @ 99~100 mph on very hot and humid days, so adding about 160 horsepower on top of that should give you at least a better mph...shoot like about 112 at least. I was going to spray my car the NX route with about a 100 shot with anticipation of a run of like 13.3@110. Here is the thing...850...is indeed low, especially when you are running a fogger system! If you are running 160 and the bottle pressure is like 900-1000, the car should easily run 13.1@112. I can't wait to hear your new numbers!
Did you mean 1.786 as your 60 ft?
a good 460hp:eek:
With enough fuel, a stock motor should take it pretty well

sorry a typo 786 was reaction time.
Yes NOS will reck your engine unless you (120-175 shot)
1. get cooler plugs 1-2 steps
2. retard timing 4-6 degrees at time of use
3. tune on the dyno @175/hr for 3-5 hrs over two to three weeks to make sure the fuel/air ratio and shifting is OK.
4. get forged pistons.
other things that will help
a. valve body
b. T/C
c. tranny cooler
Remember safety first. My set up will turn off if the fuel pressure ever falls to low, so I will not lean out. I also have checked my plugs almost after every run so far. I will stop this when I know everything is perfect.
So to answer your question yes you can run a NOS set up without ruining your car but it will cost you. Just like a super charger stage 3 from MOE. Anytime that HP (365rwp mine) is put through a tranny and motor prepare for the worst so the worst doesn't happen to you.

roenick7 - haha, yah...definitely a good run despite those factors you stated! 12s are on the verizon I would say! Ever consider mounting an ET street on a 16" wheel? Anyway, does the stock ECU retard timing? If not, how did you do so?
I used a 150-200 shot on my C5 for over 70,000 miles and 2 bottle refills a week with no problems, except for the one time I blew up a motor early on, but that was my fault. Cooler plugs, retard timing (my stock comp took care of that), right fuel mixture (adjustable fuel press regulator and autotapp for tunning)...no forged pistons...lasted pretty damn well!
I wouldn't suggest risking a $15k motor if you have never used nitrous before!

thanks mike for the info.
I ordered a MSD DIS4 ignition which will retard timing only when NOS is activated and I am currently running 2 steps cooler. My ignition should be installed by next week
Bottle warmer is sched. for this Thursday.
The MSD will also add a rev limiter to my specs and a RPM Launch Control.
HMMMMM wife wants to go the drags next time, what happens when she sees the purge blow 6' over the hood???

If you haven't yet installed your bottle warmer, I would buy the Nitrous Express one!!! It warms up the bottle much faster and looks much better!

Damn, NICE RUN! Very Impressive, especially with the low bottle pressure... My car ran like complete crap with any bottle pressure under 950psi when I was running my old 120 shot, so that is very impressive!
Are you running the stock fuel pump, or do you have a nitrous specific pump just for your nitrous?

stock pump.
the APEXi SAFC increased fuel flow by 20-30% already and now with up to a 175-200shot the fuel pump has not failed. I currently only have a 155 shot or so now. But for everyone that is wondering yes it can take the punch.
