I second the pioneer but the eclipse unit to me sound stronger but there not in my own opinion the most user friendly on the go headunit... like now I'm also shopping for a din unit so ever chance I get I like to play with them

Yup, Kenwood is the best HU I have the pleasure in owning. Their navigation (Garmin) is second to none.

Plus if you decide to add an 2000 watt RMS amp they can handle the punch quite well

I've always been a fan of the Pioneers and have used the Avic series for years without issues. At your price range there are some choice but if looking for anything the top of the line avic-z series is king.

I just picked up a brand new Pioneer AVH-P3200DVD for $270 from a local shop. They can be had for less than $300 on ebay. I'd be putting in the car right now if it wasn't raining outside..

It seems like a really good unit for the price. I was going to go with a cheaper unit but I didn't want to worry about it failing in the first year, so I went with pioneer. I'll probably take some pictures of the install.

Here's a review:

I was looking at one of these Jensen's before the pioneer because it looks like the color would go well with the stock GS interior colors.. but i liked the features of the pioneer better.

Not sure what you're looking for, there are much better one's out there, I was just looking for more of the "bang for the buck" personally.

I have the Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD with the bluetooth add-on and if I had to do it all over again, which I might. I will get the AVIC unit hands down. I was thinking about the AVH-3200, but it has small screen in a double din spot that just doesn't cut it.

I've got a Pioneer 4200 and am happy with it. This is my first double DIN and have no need for nav so it's fit my needs and sounds good enough with all external amps. I've always run Alpine HU's with the exception of a Sony C-90 way back in the day but couldn't justify spending the extra $ to get the same features out of an Alpine at this point.

Not the best pic but the only one I've got at the moment.
