Default Major tire wear!!!!

I recently put some used tires on my stock wheels to get me through the winter. The tires have been on the car for 4 days now and the wires are already showing and one exploded. The tires had like 60% tread when I put them on. And it is just wearing really fast in the front not the rear could this be caused by bad lower ball joints or blown struts please help thanks in advance.

Get an alignment. The biggest contributor to tire wear like you describe is way too much toe.

Geez, thats hella fast wear. Likewise, alignment should fix this.

blown struts would give the tire a "wavy" feel when you feel it. Sounds like a really bad toe/camber combo. I would advise to check all the bushings and balljoints. Even if you get an alignment, it can pop back into a bad wear due to bad components. goodluck.

Before you do an alignment, have your suspension checked out. Sounds like bad bushings and ball joints.

First off I have to call BS. If a tire has 60% left there is now way it would be down to the cords within 4 days no matter how bad your alighnment was out of wack unless you're doing burnout. Most likeky the tires already had some camber wear and was better on the other side so it may have looked like it had more treadwear left.

I would listen to Och. If you want to get your problem fixed first have your suspension check out and see if any of the bushings of ball joints need to be replaced. And then cough up for NEW tires and then go get an alignment. Never get an alignment done with used tires or tires that are unevenly worn out and it will only screw up your next set. I actually go for an alignment everytime I get new tires. Is it necessary? No, but it assures me my tires will wear out even every time and not all brand tires sit the same way as well, which is why I do it.

how are you going to tell me what my tires were at. They were at 60 percent. I put my full size spare on that had a brand new tire on it and thats already almost gone in 2 days. Any way I just changed the lower ball joints yesterday and put on my stance coilovers so I will be taking it in for an alignment today to see if that fixes the problem also ill be having them check out all the bushings.

actually this could happen in 4 days but as said above his toe in or out has to be way out of whack. I towed a old car once that had tie rods replaced but not sized right needless to say the wheels actually pointed outwards and after 100 miles they where shot on the inside cords and all showing the same. Go to an alignment shop pronto. get the problem fixed cause your not rolling straight at the moment. LOL but GL

If your toe is so bad that it chews the tire in 2 days, you should be able to even see it being off visually, and the tires should squeal while driving, and the car should feel very unstable.

I advise against putting coilover or any other mods until you get to the source of the problem.

tires were squealing while driving!! I dropped the car off at an alignment shop today they looked at everything and in fact the toe was way out of wack so I have to go pick it up in the a.m. so hopefully it fixes the problem.
