Default abs, vsc light on

is it common for the abs and vsc light to come on after change the lower ball joint? After doing so those two light remain on, i have already tried resetting the ecu, pulling out that metal like clip thing on the diagnose connection under the hood and did the press brake pedal to reset the abs. it still remain on so i cant get it to go away, only way i guess is the dealer have to clear it correct me if im wrong. Thanks in advance guys!

check the 15amp fuse in the number 15 spot under the lower left drivers side kick panel. 3rd row from the top, 2nd fuse from the right. Should be a blue 15amp. Hope this helps. Did it lock you in Park too?

You most likely damaged the speed sensor when changing the ball joints

Unplug your speed sensor connector and see if you get 1.6-1.7k ohms...

I broke mine this weekend, after installing coilovers. Mine stretched and the wires inside the housing broke right at the sensor, It was hard to tell from the outside, repaired with solider and heat shrink.

... good luck.

Yes, that would be normal resistance for the sensor...

The car will operate normal but without ABS or VSC.

If you can't scan it you can also use the Diagnostic port in the engine bay to pinpoint the exact sensor that went bad. The sensors are connected at inboard side of the wheel wells. You will just have to follow the wire with your hand to where it attached to the frame rails.

Fixing it is quite easy like stated above. Just pray that the wire(s) didn't break deep inside the plastic part of the sensor then it'll be a bit annoying to re-solder.

If you need to know how to short the Diagnostic port to pinpoint which sensor went then just PM me and I'll send you the procedure.
