What is the best sized wheel for the GS? 19" or 20"
I know could be a biased question that most people are going to answer based on looks, but i'm asking more in terms of how it will affect the car.
In the past, I had an Audi a4 on 20" wheels that looked great, but really degraded the performance and wore out the suspension parts pretty badly, I later switched back to 19" wheels which seemed to work perfectly. On my s2k, 17" wheels seemed to be the max.
I've been reading the wheel fitment faq on this forum and it seems like 20's are definitely the max. I'd probably opt for 19's but I have my eye on the HRR MR3's which only come in 20".
My question, am I going to see some issues with 20's instead of 19's? Are 19's a safer bet? Or is the difference negligable?
**disclaimer** I know anytime you plus size you're going to wear out the tranny/suspension/steering sooner than normal. **disclaimer**

The wheel guide says that running 20's regardless puts you out of spec, is this outdated info?:
"** on 20" wheels for the GS, keep in mind that the wheels are out of spec so the overall diameter is off by about 6%. Your speedometer would be off, meaning that when the speedometer says 80mph, you are actually going at around 85mph already. Plus, because of the 1" larger diameter overall compared to 18" or 19" (with tires), you have to be careful with your lowering. From my experience, if you lower your car to 2 fingers, provided that you have the correct offset, you shouldn't rub (or very slightly) the top of the wheel well. If you go 1½ finger gap or less, when going over uneven road or dips, you will most likely rub the top part of the wheel well. Over time you will see part of the rubber wheel well flap got rubbed away. Moreover, with 20", you will rub when you put your steering wheel at full lock (either left or right) and mostly when backing up. This is due to the bigger diameter and when you turn, you rub the front and back of the wheel well (this is one reason why 20" are the biggest rims you can put on the GS with reasonable widths). "

^^^ all that is subject to change. I have my car lowered 3 inches maybe more and sit flush front and rear, don t rub and my speedo is within 2 % from factory in the front and right on in the rear. Anyways if you want to ride a 245/30/20x9front and 285/25/20x 10.5 rear you should stay real close to factory diameter. This is a none stretched fitted tire size, and just an example but you can always stretch tires change offsets, add spacers, raise, lower the car and the fitment will always change good luck!

i had 19 but went to 20 thought about going back to 19 but there are more tire options in 20s tires for 19s seem to be more money imo but if money is no object i would go with a real nice set of 19s better ride and gas mileage
