Default new gs300 owner need opinions on tuneup

HELLO everyone. My name is marc im 37 and a new 2002 gs300 owner. Just bought it at an auction with my friends dealer codes so I got a pretty good deal. Inside and outside its condition is outstanding and was one of the reasons why I got this car now even thow I already have a daily driver. The mileage is only 76k and the engine is quiet and at idle is perfect. Only things I have done is a synthetic oil change. New wipers. And removed the stock airbox and added in a blitz cone filterand short ram intake. Reason why I did the intake was I noticed how extremely dirty the air filter was. Only issue I have seen so far is that the main belts look old and dry and cracking so I assume I will replace that. But it has a noticble jerk in the tranny from 1st to 2nd and i had the dealer inspect it and said no codes were found but that the transmission fluid is very dirty and dark and they regimens a flush. So guys what tuneups should I do I love this car and want to have it well maintained so it'll last me a long time so I want to know a list of items I should replace ( ac filter, spark plugs etc) to keep this baby running great for a long time. I have been reading all the post on diy mods but wanted some opinions.
Thanx sincerely marc of KENNESAW georgia.

Welcome and congrats! Change your ball joints and tie rods if they haven't already been done.

Don't do a tranny flush if your car hasn't had one before. I'd recommend a simple drain and fill. A drain and fill on the differential wouldn't be a bad idea either.

+2.

And i'd do about 2 or 3 drain or fills on the tranny. This will help get rid of the old fluid slowly instead of at once like the flush would. BananaGS has the perfect DIY for it.

Thanx for the feedback guys, Im about to order online the ac cabin filter , denso plugs, t4 tranny fluid and rtv seal silicone , Called the dealer and they were way to expensive for parts plus to do a drain and fill on the tranny . i only have 1 key and they want 225 + 60 program fee for a reg key or a valet key for 85 + 50 for programming..so this weekend gonna do the tranny and the plugs and cabin filter , and already did the wipers and the oil change (synthetic) . Plus im soon gonna buy the topspeed pro catback exhaust as i saw a video on youtube on the gs300 with it and it sounded SICK!!!!! ..

thanx Marc

Welcome.

Getting more keys is easy as long as your key is a master key. ( A key with a remote on the back.) If so look for a used master key on eBay and make sure the FCC and RSS ID codes match the codes on your existing key. Next look on eBay for a uncut master key shell and transfer the insides of the used key. A good locksmith can cut and program the uncut master key shell. You can also program the key yourself. Search the forums for a key programing DIY.

$135 is really high for a valet key! My local dealer charged me $65 for my valet key cut and programmed. Go on Sewell Lexus parts website and register your Club Lexus account to order a pre cut valet key and program it yourself.

Good luck with the car!
