Cluster compatibility
Is there a difference between the 98-00 and 01+ clusters for a GS300? Ebay lists them differently but I don't understand why that would be. Can anyone verify what the differences are?

The clusters are different; e-shift is different as well. I believe 98-00 which I currently have will work in 2001+ and 2001+ will work in 98-00
In short they will work - but someone confirm about the pigtails on the back.
If you have eshift I would get one with eshift so you can see what gear you are in without guessing.
In terms of the poster above; the cluster trims are diff as well but you wont get the cluster trim with the cluster itself. You can have a 98-00 cluster and then purchase the 01+ trims.

cluster bezels trims are different
instrument clusters themselves are different, i tried an 01+ on my 99, and it showed an "airbag malfunc" light.
e-shift and non e-shift instrument clusters are different as well, besides the display of the gears, the location where the odometer is different in the black triangular part that seperates it from the speedo is different.
