Default Lexus GS400 Load and not smooth in idle

Hi,
I don't know the term for what's going on with my Lexus, but when I'm in idle in drive and stopped the car is loud and I can hear the engine? but when I put it into neutral the sound goes away and the car becomes smooth again. I also noticed idle when i'm in drive and stopped is around 400 or so rpm but in neutral it's around 700-800.

Any ideas what needs to be replaced fluid wise, or if it's a part?

Going to try doing some fluid changes tomorrow starting with oil, then trans, then power steering, then rear differential. But if anyone has a rough idle like mine and knows the fix let me know. Thanks

Also another problem I have is when I step on the gas sometimes it takes more time then usual for the car to move, like it'll go... whiirrrr for a second or so, then kick into the gear. Is that normal in econ mode? Or does that mean I'm low on something?

clean your mass air flow sensor, clean your air filter, sea foam your car get an oil change. But I don't recommend you do it if your high mileage

Def dont sea foam a high mileage motor, very good chance you will clog little oil passage ways. Also we need more info really. Is the service for the car up to date, what is the mileage, last time plugs where done, are you running 93+ premium fuel etc etc. Is there any check engine light on or any other light for that matter.

My car also idles pretty low in drive (around 300 rpm if the AC is off) adn you can definately feel the car shaking a bit. In Park it idles at 700 RPM and the engine runs a lot smoother. Last year I cleaned out the MAF and TB and it idled higher. I think I'm going to clean the TB again soon because I couldn't get some of the really tough carbon in there last time. I'm at 140,000 miles, is Seafoam out of the question with this many miles? I am planning on getting new Spark Plugs this Summer, besides the TB, MAF, and Fuel Filter, are there any other things I can look at to get the engine running to the best of its abilities? Do Fuel Injection services do anything or are they a waste of money?

Alright some more info. I bought this car used at 90k miles, it's not at 98k miles. The car was serviced every 15k miles till the 90k mark, and oil was changed till the part. This is the dealer so they serviced everything at lexus. I cleaned out the MAF already and that helped for like... 1 day and it was back again.

Lexusben suffers from the same issue. Is it the spark plugs possibly? Transmission fluid? Oil? Or something else?

I have to write that off. The problem with mounts should be noticable at higher speeds if I read correctly, right? There is no problem with this car at high speeds, none. If it was the mounts then the problems would be worse at 75+ mph, not better

thats actually not true....typically at idle you notice the mounts are bad due to the noise and shaking/vibrations but go ahead and write it off

im out its beer thirty

Ah I see, but from what I read on here weren't mounts that were loose also shaking when you go over 65 mph? I'll ask my mechanic to take a look at it tommorow, and see what he thinks. I'll mention trans mounts as well.

You can easily check the mounts by using one foot on the brakes and the other hit the gas in Drive mode and switch back to Reverse and repeat the process. If you feel/hear clunk then thats the problem.

nope that would typically be the front castor bushing giving people the shake over 65 mph...mention transmission and engine mounts to him. 2 engine mounts and 1 tranny mount

x2 on motor and or transmission mounts.

Rough idle or vibration at idle. I assume you mean the latter.
Just keep your a/c on, keeping the idle up, like I do or check your mounts...

good luck
