Default Lowering Springs

Sup everyone,
Im really new to this scene and just got my first 99' GS300. I love my new ride and been a fan for a long time. I want to do some mods on my new ride and the first thing I wanted to do is get some new rims and get it lowered. I was thinking about getting a set of lowering springs and wanted to get the opinions from everyone on what was best out there. I was thinking of getting a set of Tanabe DF219 or NF210 or a set of Tien S Tech springs. Looking at getting a set of 20' rims to roll around and looking for a good deal on that. I was wondering what would be the best drop with the best ride quality and in that price range? Let me know what you guys think? Thanks in advance!

Congrats on the GS!

I've got a set of DF210's on KYB's and running 18x8 and 18x9 Work Equip's. Word of advice, save up and get coilovers. You'll want to go lower than what the springs are capable of providing. Granted, I got DF210's because of the horrific Michigan roads and keeping in mind that I may have to drive my GS3 during the winter. Other than that, the DF210/KYB combo has been pretty comfortable. But that's my $0.02.

Thanks j-spec
I was thinking of getting coilovers but I wasnt looking to go that low and be spending that kind of money (not now maybe in the future). I was more concerned with how comfortable the ride would be. The roads here in vegas aren't that bad but i wanted to keep somewhat of a stock ride height and get rid of some of that tire gap. Just a question is the white GS in your signature yours with the DF210 on it? Awesopme ride looks pretty clean and really low. Thanks for your input

Thanks Lex.....yeah dont wanna sacrifice any ride comfort by going too low but im second guessing this lowring spring idea from what everyone is tellin me. But im getting some pretty good quotes on springs right now soo I wouldnt mind switching to coilovers in the future. Thanks again!

I heard H&R springs drops the car pretty low and keeping almost the same comfort just a little bouncier. Look into it.

I want to do the same thing now..... It seems everyone puts the GS400 springs in as it lowers it a tad more than the GS300 springs...... Does this affect the ride? I thought the GS400 may weigh a bit more (only the GS300 straight six in Australia)..

Ive been doing some research and I always come back to the Tanabe DF210. The have the lowest drops (1.8' in front and 1.3' in back according to their website) but I havent really heard a lot about the ride comfort. Any input out there on this guys? Thanks for all the other suggestions, keep'em coming lol.

Here's the deal if you want comfort and no irregular tire wear stick with the Eibach Pro-Kit. It might only be an inch drop, but I love them compared to stock. Next year I'll be getting the KYB GR-2 struts. Car now has 143k with original struts. It boils down to Jap vs. German, progressive vs. linear (Tanabe NF/DF or Eibach Pro-Kit). I've had Eibachs on many vehicles and always liked them. My front left camber is maxed out at -1.0 but tires seem to be wearing good. Not sure why the right is still in the green.

i have the eibach pro kit, on normal roads & highways the car is superb. on uneven or pitted roads youll def. notice the difference from stock especially once you slap on those 20's itll be a lot worse. since i live in a area prone to snow & steep driveways i wish i had gone with coils just to raise it on winter seasons. other than that the eibachs & kyb combo gives me a tight 2 finger gap clearance which is def lower than 1 inch that they claim on the site.

Eibach pro kit and Bilsteins Sport is the best spring shock combo if you're not planning to go super low.
