if you asked me id say is a bad move. id drop a 2jzgte aristo motor for about 1800 thats a difference of 500 however ud be happy at the end job. that would be my way to look at things. but everyone has their input and .02.

Wait, you're telling me that they said that coolant spraying on the engine made it fry? For that we shouldnt get our engines wet for nothing.... makes no sense to me I'd like to know the technical side of this and what actually happened.

I believe he had a catastrophic coolant leak, when his coolant hose came off, with complete loss of coolant.
This will kill an engine in minutes...

I for one would like to know the details of the hose failure.
Was it not clamped or was it old.
A photo if it's not to much trouble...

FrankT has it right. I wish I could post pics, the car is in the shop getting a motor in it. Where the upper radiator hose meets the radiator is where the damage occurred. The plastic that the hose clamps too broke off or melted causing the coolant loss.

Im assuming it was caused by the natural aging of the car. Im thinking that setup hasnt been touched since it was made and I have a 98.
