Getting vibration from car at speed. What could cause this?
I got my 2003 GS300 about a month ago. I have just recently started driving it regularly on the interstate, and im noticing that when i get up to speed (60+ mph) that there is a very noticeable vibration. Enough to make the wheel shake a bit and even cause my watch to rattle along with it. I'm going to check the pressure on the tires tomorrow (they are brand new, though), but what else might cause this? TIA for any help.

It could be number of things, easiest is checking for tire pressure and wheel damage. Next move on to suspension components, when did you change out your ball joints? Check if the bushings are still good. Even check the wheel bearing. Good luck with it.

Hahaha, not trying to give anyone the jitters but you see the stories of ball joints failing. And if you personally have not replaced them and car is over 100+k, my suggestion is forking out the $120 and get them replaced. It's not a hard job and definitely worth your life/car right?

Check your front brake discs and calipers. A siezed caliper can overheat a brake disc on the highway and cause the vibration. I would know, it happened to me.
Next would be your wheels, make sure they are balanced and aren't bent or out of round.
And finally, a ball joint failing wouldn't cause the issue you are describing, it has it's own different set of symptoms.

I have had both lower ball joints replaced. The first one failed on me, luckily only going like 30mph. Learning my lesson I replaced my other one before it could fail.
