i've searched but it only comes up with the es and 3rd gen gs. it started like two months ago. car runs fine and all but that noise is annoying. is there anything i should look for or be aware of. just don't want anything to bite me in the rear later. any help would be great guys

Well lets start off by taking a picture of your engine, and you pointing to where the sound is coming from. also please update as to how many miles you have service records or maintenance done, and mods we may or may not be able to see. then we can go from there. this could be anything from a bad lifter shim or hydraulic tappet, to bad OCV valve, to bent valve (probably not), and or anti lash gear as I had a problem with on my 1uzfe which you also have on the 2jzge.
