When I start my car with hand brake engaged, the daytime running lights do not turn on. Once I release the parking brake, they turn on.

If I start the car with the parking brake disengaged, the daytime running lights turn on right away.

Trying to figure out if this is normal behavior, or if I'm having an electrical issue.

I'm having a similar weird issue...My daytime running lights work fine during the day. But at night, only one of them comes on. Anyone else experience this?

It's normal. Every car equipped with DRLs does this so they aren't lit while stationary with the car running.

Are they supposed to shut off when you engage the hand brake? Because mine don't shut off, once they are on, they are on!

I thought they were supposed to?

Guess it's only if you start the car with the hand brake engaged.

It's normal, nothing wrong. When you start the car with the e brake engaged the DRL will be off until you release it. At this point they will stay on until you turn the car off again

If you have your head lamps set to light sensor its switching from the Highbeam (DRL) to the city lights at night. You have a bulb out.
