i understand. this was my concern when i wanted to do it to mine.

what you have to do is remove the full nav unit.
find the ac controls from a non-nav gs and put those in, they should be able to plug right in if you buy the right one. idk if all gs have interchangable ac's but id find one thats exactly the year and model of your gs, just in a non-nav unit and put those controls in there at the top. then the bottom should be enough to fit a double din.

i didnt know about this until AFTER i did my stereo work. but what i did was i kept my full touch screen nav unit and i connected the factory amp to a processor. gives me good sound quality and i get to keep everything stock looking and not have to take out the nav or mess with it.

however, nothing really gives you the sound quality of a deck, like an actual deck. if i had to do it all over, i think i might do a double din isntead of a processor. it was cheaper to do a processor but i dont get all the features a deck or double din would give.. but also, i hate the look of the non-nav ac controls in the gs. i think they look ugly, so idk if id do it.

u can find the ac controls on the classfields on here or on ebay.

It depends if you want to get a single din or double din deck, imho double din would look better. like metioned before, all you have to do is buy a climate control aka hvac from a lexus gs w/o nav. They range from $80-150 on ebay. The climate control in plug and play using factory connector.

I did this and after pulling the nav unit did a test fit of the new unit and noticed that the a/c plugs have a different pin-out. I am attaching some pics. Did I buy the wrong part? Any suggestions?

did you by pass the ML amp because you have to run wires from the front to the rear and bypass the amp
