Well I know this has been discussed plenty of times, but I have had my basic tune-up done.

Here's what has been done in the past 4-6 months;

-: New Spark Plugs (NGK G-Power)
-: Sea Foaming
-: Lucas Injector Cleaner (x2-3)
-: Transmission Drain/Fill (About 4 total)
-: Oil Change (Going to go for another in the next couple weeks)
-: New Air Filter
-: TB & MAF Sensor Cleaned.
-: New Fuel Filter

Even after all of this my car STILL seems pretty sluggish. It's really bad about getting up off a stop-light/stop. Even sometimes when I slow down and then press the gas to get back going again it's really sluggish to get going. No I do not try and kill my foot on the pedal. I know I have read that our cars are a bit slow getting up at times, but my car just feels real bad when it comes to it.

Any ideas on what else I need to check/change? Only fluids left that need changing are my power steering, differential, and brake fluid.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Oh and I drive a 98 GS3 with 145k on the ticker.

Have you tried to reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes?

Are you on stock wheels? The rotating mass of aftermarket wheels can also add to the sluggish feel.

I've tried resetting my ECU twice. Did it one time and then again a couple months later. The first time there was a good amount of difference, but then a couple weeks later went back down to the sluggish feel. I did it again a couple weeks ago though and got no gain this time. Oh and i'm on stock wheels.

I've run out of ideas

have you tried adjusting your throttle cable? i have a gs300 as well and there was almost an inch of slack when i checked mine. i tightened it to the point where there is about1/4 inch slack and the cars response has improved.

to adjust, remove engine cover and its in the back near the TB, loosen both 11mm or 12mm nut i think for got the sizes? and tighten. just dont over do it or else at idle or the road you can feel your car lunging forward and harder to stop because it feels like your pressing the pedal at all times. just give it enough to where it doesnt pull on the wheel its attached to. sorry if i confused you but its easier to understand once you see it.

Are you able to get me a picture of the wire? I'm not able to do that to my car atm, but if you could get me a quick picture of the bolts/throttle cable. I think I know what you're talking about, but i'm more of a visual person so pictures help 100%.

dont mind the red O's thats from someone else's guide. i was just using their photos.


you see the wire thing in the back? you see theres a bit of slack on the wire there, i adjusted that wire until it looked like the photo there and some people pulls it even more but thats sufficient enough for me.

i did a search on sparkplugs.com for your application on spark plugs and came up with these.

You're MAF sensor is dying ....

Buy a new one for $125+shipping any you'll be able to chirp your wheels again !

What grade of gas do you use? I always fill up with 89. However, this weekend my cousin borrowed my car and brought it back with a full tank. I am pretty sure he put 87 in there and I can feel a marked difference. Car feels significantly more sluggish.

I'm going to reset the ECU in conjunction with a full tank of 93. Should do the trick.

I always run premium. Never have I put anything less in it.

Have you hooked up a code scanner to it and pulled codes from the ECU? You may have one even if the CEL isn't on. I have a code scanner if you want to stop by so I can check for ya. I work in Dallas and live in Frisco.

Where in Dallas do you work? I live in Garland so if you're close maybe we can setup sometime to meet and we can see if we can pull anything up. I haven't tried that yet.

How much does a code scanner cost anyways? I might invest in one, lol, save myself trips to the mechanic and from bothering others.

Try swapping MAF sensors with someone to see if that does the trick.
