That totally sux...

Stories like that make me scared of installing stuff that isn't bolted.

You won't be able to trace by Gmail... Gmail masks the ISP Information. Alot of internet scammers use Gmail for this reason.

Please give any information you have to the Police. I'm sure they can track his IP Address from Gmail. Google can provide the ISP information to the Police. Or the police can setup a sting.
