Default Gs4... On Track To Get Slower?

I realize resources like edmunds aren't the most reliable, but they've got zero-60 times at 5.4 for '98 and '99 models.

In 2000, curb weight stays the same and yet the time is slower: zero to 60 in 5.9.

In 2001 and 2002 again, according to edmunds, the same zero to 60 run takes 6.3 Shouldn't speeds be increasing, if weight isn't increasing much at all? What's gonna happen in 2003, a 6.6 run time?

No one knows what's going to happen. And 5.4 stock is lower than any other 'test' result I've seen. 5.8/5.9 for the entire model run is about right.

Yeah, I realize the GS's fate when it comes to speed and other factors is still anyone's guess. Do the current GS430's still hit the 5.8/5.9 mark in 0-60?

I have yet to take mine to the track. But the GS430 weighs about 50lb more than the GS400 and has about 15 more lbs. of torque. So it makes up for it, I guess.

There has been one member here who has tested a QM of 13.9

I don't recal anyone else posting numbers as low, but most people actually do post numbers in the 14s and 6s.

Too bad about the extra weight of the GS430, for certain, the added torgue w/out weight would have shaved more time off 1.4 mile runs.

I think I remember the 13.9 time post, does anyone recall if that was stock, or with several mods...

I have ran a 13.9 but thats with Mods and I have a GS400 not 430. I did see a GS430 run a 13.8 but I don't know if he was stock or modded.

All it takes is money, Wally. Good for you if you want to spend all that dough.

What!? You'd actually prefer a 500 horsepower Benz, over your GS, What are you thinking? Seriously, that car is amazing. Again, It's only money, I suppose.
Some of us must continue to dream
